Wow! Poor Boy sandwich awesomely good, so huge! (Sorry I ate half before taking picture.)The drinks are great, smoothie alcohol. Excellent stop on a bike ride. You can catch this bar and grill from the Wauponsee Glacial Trail in Symerton Illinois! Great bike ride stop!

Not fancy, but our server was super friendly and had several recommendations for what to try. There is a bar area and a place with tables. It is a typical small town bar. We came in because the ladies at the polling place were eating takeout from here, and it smelled delicious. They do have slot machines in an area at the back for those that are interested. There was also a little window with color books and crayons and stuff for kids to play with. There was a family eating when we arrived and the kids really seemed to be enjoying their food. There is also a patio area outside for warm days. Food was good. I had the Garlic Beef Wrap that the server recommended. It was excellent! Filled with beef and mozzarella cheese and a nice garlic flavor that was not too overpowering. Served with chips normally, but I added fries for a little extra. My husband got the Poor Boy with tots. He thought it was very good. Lots of grilled onions and cheese which he is a fan of. Overall, very good food that I would definitely recommend. Prices

Ok, it's a small town bar, so don't expect fine dining. But the basic tavern menu is all good, and pretty low price, IMHO. Plenty of covered (roof) outdoor seating, great for a summer day, and it's a tenth of a mile from the Wauponsee bike trail.

Found this place by accident. It is close by the Wauponsee Glacial Trail (Symerton Road access) and was a nice place to grab lunch after hiking. It is the only business in the small town of Symerton. I tried their Symerton Tap Burger which comes with double the cheese, bacon, and onion rings. It was a satisfying and tasty burger. It also comes with homemade chips that can be substituted for French fries or tatter tots for a $2 up charge. I am glad I stuck with the homemade chips, because they are done well here. My bill for the burger, homemade chips, and a can of Pepsi came to $16, which I consider a great value. You should be warned that this place is cash only. They do have an ATM if you need to take out some cash. The bartender was sweet and I was impressed she knew all the regulars’ bar orders. The place is frequented by local farmers. There is definitely a strong working man’s, Midwest vibe to the place. They also have an outdoor pavilion that I imagine is nice during the summers.

The only business in town. The bar tender was nice and the food was good. The menu was way bigger than expected. Especially the appetizers. Great burger. Daily specials. Cold beer. Great stop on the middle of nowhere.

A gem in the middle of a tiny town, in the middle of cornfields.. A place that every Biker knows for great food and cold beer at reasonable prices. They have Taco Tuesday, Wing Wednesday, and a great burger every day.
